Jim's always had that arrogant streak about him in his interviews. I think he likes to deliberately shock people, like some deranged line out of the "Rhinegold" musical. I don't know why he said it. Ask him. It's ingrained into his generation as well. Look at Michael Richards exploding onstage at the comedy club. Jim grew up in all of that. Especially in the 1950s. What was racism like in Long Island and California and New York? Come on, you older fans, peel out of the woodwork and join the discussion.
