Just joined the board so I don't know if anyone's ever posted about Nightwish. I am, of course, a ravenous Steinman fan. I also love Sisters of Mercy and TSO. I just discovered Nightwish, an opera goth metal band out of Finland. The group has an enormous, heavily produced sound with WAY over-the-top symphonic elements, choirs, soaring/pounding guitars, etc. Most importantly, the band's music is not just a crowded clash of loud sounds. The leader (Tuomos Holopainen) knows exactly what he's doing and is doing it unbelievably well. Anyone a fan of the group? If not, I'm guessing you will be.
