Y'know, from a certain perspective I think you're on to something. Using your meaning: A Dead Ringer for love. It may not be love at all, but it sure looks like it, feels like it. Then again, it could just be a dead ringer...Not actual love. Just like they thought the guy was dead. Buried him, but it was just a dead ringer. I always thought the song was about shallow love anyways, or a "I love you tonight. tomorrow, maybe not" vibe. Could be. It does fit Jim's gothic love, and he does use double meanings on almost all of his songs (it seems) | |
