How > about this... it is the same as the difference between Jim > Steinman and Richard O'Brien The small fact that I have an Associates Degree in Social Sciences is due to the fact that I gravitated towards the intellectual studies of the human condition. I actually was trying for a Bachelor in Business Administration in Management Information Systems, where I would have been one of those who were project designers with Project managers reporting to them. But, as it happened, mine was the only school with such a program and so the Associates in Social Sciences credential stands, which probably is a better reflection of my personality anyway. In such a case, it isn't so bad that I dropped the illogically given Managerial Accounting class which kept me from collecting the Associates in Computer Science, which would have been enough to paper the bathroom wall. I like the AA in Social Sciences, but would have better liked under the circumstances to have had both Associates degrees, but the Dean got pissed off and asked me why I need two Associates for. So, she didn't tell me what school I could make up the missing course at. But, I haven't given up........... Before I ever entered college, I was sitting in college courses without registration, without grades, and without any records at all, and I got one really happening education from that for two years, in Sociology (four courses), Psychology (a full year of ignorant child psychology studies), and History Of Film. Boy I loved that course, without which I could never have learned how special Citizen Kane is. Before I ever left high school, I made agreements with instructors to swap courses during the school days when I had filled my program with electives and wanted more. So the Western Civilization teacher let me take the exams when given and I was able to take, also without registration, grades or credit, Modern Culture. Yum. I loved to learn. I had really good relationships with some teachers in the school who permitted me to have the levity to make the education I wanted for myself during the golden opportunity I saw, to have it. I wasted no time, did not slack off, and at the same time, was probably on record as having been one of the worst truents in the school. But, I never got a single cut card or reprimand. People knew me for being smart, participatory, self-starting, highly motivated, and focused on the direction of learning. So, there was no particular enforcement of structure placed on me which was good, because structure was one of those things that bothered the heck out of me if I couldn't learn within it. Jim Cypherd is exactly the same way, but with an exponentiated increase in intelligence than I. But did I go and check out a program that I have no basis of knowing because of not having a Mac, no. However, apparently some people here have gone between both systems with a level of comfort and expertise to make a big deal about Safari, and I was curious about it, nearly downloaded it, but didn't know what to expect. So, since a message board is a cooperative compendium of people helping others to what small degree exists, it was appropriate of me to ask, and inappropriate of you to criticize. Expletive here. Best, The insatiably unimaginitive Susan | |
