It is pretty common for movies to have sequels, most of them become trilogies. I dont know why, but I was thinking about which movie trilogy would come closest to the booh albums. Not plot- or storywise, I was just thinking about the specifics of the single movies/albums and how they're related to each other, and I came up with:
American Pie
similarities:
The first one was something completely new, never seen/heard before.
The second one even topped it, with new fresh ideas, dragging the thing deeper and wasnt not as shallow as the first one.
The third one tries to capture the essence of the first two, but only offers some lame ideas and becomes not more than a cheap parody of part one and two. Also not all the involved people from 1 and 2 take part in the third one.
All in all it looks like the other at the first look, but if you focus and really think about it, it's doesnt have a lot to do with them.
