| Very interesting post Brenda. It's nice to have a thread on here that's for discussion of opinions about music and performers, for a change. After all, this is more or less a music opinion discussion board. Here's my opinions. > I believe Karine will definitely be the next > 'DIVA" in pop music. We can't wait until her first > concert, we will be there for sure. Her voice sort of > haunts you, even after each song has ended. I believe there's something like a 99.999% chance she won't be the next DIVA in pop music. Normally I'd suggest getting a new Project Consultant but in her case I don't think it'll make a difference. She hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell. I don't understand why you'd do half-covert and half-overt marketing. If you're posing as a fan on a board, you should leave your name and the promotional picture out of it, and not refer to "us", and leave out the myspace stuff and where to buy it. And if you're not, you should state that you work for the artist, and write something like an announcement rather than a fan post. > To say she > will soon be a household word, is stating it mildly! Calling you full of shit, would be stating it mildly! She is on a really, really minor record label. The fact that her album is covers of Turkish songs, and not new songs, suggests she wasn't able to gain the interest of those who control the new material. The fact that her CD needs to be marketed this way makes me suspect that her career is in a very desperate state. > Karine very recently signed with Breaking Records in New > York City. I must agree with Mr. Steinman, "she has one > of the best voices I've ever heard". Some say Karine > sounds a lot like Celine Dion, while other compare her > voice to that of Barbara Streisand. Either way and either > one, it is a high compliment. I heard a rumor that Steinman and Rinkoff FIRED her because she turned out to be TRASH. Just a rumor, don't know if it's true or not. What is clear, is that after having a chance to work with Karine, Steinman and Rinkoff concluded something other than the assertions in your post. I also want to add that I think the promotional stuff at the Breaking Records website is kinda misleading. Saying that she recorded for David Foster and Diane Warren implies that something with her voice was finished and released. Makes her sound much more accomplished than she really is. If she only did some demo work, paid by the hour, for them, that is different, and should be clarified. | |
