Thats the magic of Rock N Roll or music in > general basically. > When I first read Phenomenology... I would have been about 13 or 14 years old, I remember making up a whole musical in my head and working out where Jim's songs would go. At that time I only knew 'Bat..', 'Bad...' and the Bonnie Tyler songs from 'Faster...', but I had the whole thing worked out and I seem to remember 'Rock'n'Roll Dreams' being the finale. Thankfully, I can't remember any of the details now and I never wrote it down (as I'm sure it was a pile of pubescent wank! LOL), but this post and Bright Eyes' one above kinda sums up how I feel about it. Whatever Jim might do with Neverland is gonna be disappointing to some people after all these years. It'll either be wildly different from what we were expecting or just not as good as we can envision in our minds. And I think that's where Neverland really belongs - in Jim's head and in ours - as a muse for some of his greatest creations, and an inspiration that drives him on to write more songs that 'fit' certain scenes better than the ones he had before. Whatever the 'Bat...' muscial turns out to be (assuming it gets produced, which is a BIG assumption) I hope it's not Neverland. | |
