I don't think I care that Jim is of no significance to this doc. If its not about the songwriting and its not about the "glory days," then Jim really need not be brought up. What would be the point? If its about Meat on tour, well, Jim hasn't really been a part of that for 30 years, less a few guest spots when Bat II first came out. And particularly, since its about the Bat III tour, it really doesn't make much sense to focus on Jim. What irks me is Meat saying he is all improv, all the time. Such bullshit! Meat's show is so by the numbers its absurd. His set has been mostly the same for 15 years, he has maybe 7 or 8 "improv bits" that he pulls out of his ass as he sees fit to entertain the crowd (and they CAN be entertaining, I'll grant it; the man is charismatic.) But fuck, I don't think he has any ability to just do a different song from his catalog on a whim, which is so frustrating. Here's some improv I'd pay to see: "ya kow what, folks: this set-list says "Life is a Lemon," but fuck that shit. This song is called "MORE THAN YOU DESERVE." If he has fun choreographing PBTDL, just imagine how much fun he could have with Aspen during MTYD. "I'm gonna need several volunteers from the audience for the group sex scene, okay?" > > http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117934586.html?categoryid=31&cs=1 > > Montreal World Film Fest > Meat Loaf: In Search of Paradise > (Docu) > By EDDIE COCKRELL > An Atlas Media Corp. production, in association with Voom > HD, Tenth Street Management.
