Just watched the original again last night. Still great. Seems Carpenter has lost his patience while filming. The stillness of Halloween is what kept my eyes on the screen. Still looking forward to seeing Zombie's version regardless of the poor reviews (and not just yours). I thought TCM remake was unfairly shat on. I absolutely love it, for different reasons than the original. After seeing that, Marcus Nispel made my book of great visual directors. The look made that film to me (digital intermediate or not). And good ol Mike Vogel hanging around. I liked the DOTD remake as well. Bad for Nispel: he went on to do Pathfinder while Zack Snyder goes on to 300. Not sure if there's many horror fans around but did anybody enjoy Session 9? That is still my favorite horror film to come out since...probably Event Horizon. If anyone sees Session 9 at the vid store, rent it! > The original is my favorite thing in the world next to Bat > 1. > > But I tend to usually enjoy remakes.
