I think you meant to say it's NOT the Rory Dodd demo version that ended up in WDTW. Rory's demo is the same as The Everley Brothers version but, as it's a demo, sounds less polished.
A totally different version was used in Whistle and subsequently became famous after some fat guy sang it. I'd love to hear a well-arranged and produced version of the Dodd version as I think it's an awesome song that has sadly been ignored.
