I can't disagree with that. It seems they're trying to make TDE perfect before it hits the stage, which is why it'll fail. A show can only be made perfect through lots of trial and error, refining, reworking, jiggle the singers around etc etc A few people have said TDE is a group, I personally don't see it that way, I see it as an act, cabaret if you like, and would work exceptionally well with special guests, guest vocalists etc, that's where it's going to make its mark. A show that has revolving special guest singers with maybe new arrangements for those singers. One week it has someone like Tom Jones (this is just an example) singing Heaven Can Wait with full band, the week after it could have someone like Karla DeVito singing the same song with just a guitar. Eventually, you're going to have an artist singing that's going to appeal to a particular set of music fans, and in turn that will introduce them to Jim Steinman's music if they don't already know who he is. | |
