I was living at boarding school in the UK and I saw Meat Loaf on The Old Grey Whistle Test. I believe it was 1977.

The performance blew me and my fellow boarders away. It was one of those awesome rock experiences that never happens these days. For some reason.

Something completely new, powerful and unexpected.
