| In reply to Jim's 'new' lyrics, some 'first impressions': Love the use of 'I'll Decorate This City With Ribbons of Blood' which I think is a great title, let alone just lyrics. However, being fussy, I do prefer 'I'll decorate this city IN ribbons of blood' which to me reads/sounds better? I've always thought 'Decorate...' was a great title/song for Joker in Batman, but it could work just as well for Hook in BOOH? The best passage of lyrics (or at least where I can hear music) begin with 'In the blink of an eye, all is lost ....' and LOVE the last line 'thousands of tombstones...just waiting for the names'. I also really like the 'Paradise Lost' passage, but it doesn't seem to make sense with what has gone before? 'Once...always disappears' is another great line/thought. I do like 'The Devil's Playground' as a title, but not in the context of these lyrics. How about: 'Thousands of tombstones (just waiting for names)' 'In the blink of an eye' 'I'll Decorate This City In Ribbons of Blood' Obviously a 'stream of consciousness', as Jim puts it, and there doesn't seem to be any structure (yet), but a great read, none the less. Keep working on it Jim!! | |
