I dont post much anymore but thought Id start a thread since we have a few new people, seemingly at least... Of all the songs Jim has ever written, what do you think are three of his songs you could listen to over and over again and never get tired of and what three do you always skip when they pop up on your players? 1) For Crying out Loud Every time I listen to this and think of someone I love I feel every single lyric has speaks to me personally. The orchestra coming in during the second section, slowly at first then building along the way always makes me feel warm inside. 2) Objects in the Rear View Mirror Such simple yet powerful lyrics tell a great story of a person who had a tough life. 3) Bad For Good One of the less "epic" sounding songs but a great example a fun tune, clever lyrics, and Im always left with a smile whenever I think about being bad for good myself, hahaha. The number one song I cant stand of Jim's is If it Aint Broke break it. Man, I havnt liked it since the first time I heard it on Wuthering Heights. 2 Would have to be Stark raving love. Just sounds like a mesh up of a bunch of over songs put together poorly. 3 Tot zu sein ist komisch is the only song i cant listen to whenever I listen to TdV. Just annoys me (maybe its the singers, I dunno) Anyways, lets see if this gets some good debating, opinions, and surprise song lists going. BTW: Hey Jim, think you could let us know if our opinions of your lyrics were any good? Maybe a nice Christmas (or Holiday gift of talking to us with a new blog (if you arnt too busy that is) | |
