| I'm not sure about Sonar as I don't use it - sorry. I use Cubase alot and is great too. What I tend to do is record everything on my multi-track recorder then with usb, import the files I recorded to cubase and mix and add appropiate effects. I had that problem too when I used to do it your way, then I got this small jazzy equipment and it works better imo. Try changing it to record from mic and try that. if it doesn't work change it back to stereo mix. Failing that, I'm sure if you rang up a local studio they'd be able to tell you more....
