| It really is hard to create a good twist ending. It has to be timed just right an with enough sophistication. It requires the secrecy of the audience as well. I think the reason The Village was considered a failure is because most people had it figured out halfway through. I know I did, but thought what I had in mind wouldn't be the end reveal. It was, and I was let down. It's been a while since I "saw" it, but Saw and the sequel had me surprised. Can't remember if it was a twist ending or a surprise ending. A good ending will make or break a film for me. Many friends hated the ending of The Descent, due to it's hopelessness, but I thought it worked perfect.
