It's Never Never Land. This is not some compilation that Steinman and a bunch of creative talents have thrown together. It's the product of 40 years work, in musical theatre, the recording industry, in Hollywood and London and Europe. This is Jim Steinman's masterpiece, as much as "Fantasia" was Walt Disney's. It all started with "Neverland" and "The Dream Engine" and I think it's all going to end when it gets on. Steinman will retire from the lavish, mass royalties and maybe compose an opera or another musical in his old age (Remember that some truly great classical works were done by composers in their 80s) and that'll be that.
This is not just some compilation. And these people have to get that out there, get it out that every Steinman song, every Steinman chapter, every Steinman highlight was envisioned with this concept in mind. That is why I think the show should be called "Neverland" and not "Bat Out Of Hell" because people are going to think it's exactly what naysayers and dissenters are thinking!!!!
