| I've mentioned this before, so I'll mention it again.... How about a Bat audition TV show 'Like a Bat Out Of Hell', casting for Peter and/or Wendy? The slight twist being that anyone working in theatre can audition, not just 'unknowns'. Lloyd Webber has just announced 'I'd Do Anything' on BBC 1, a search for Oliver & Nancy, in a new production of Oliver. Cameron Mackintosh is now jumping onboard, as one of the judges (and producer), which does tend to add a bit more credibility (to these type of shows)? BBC 1 is probably out of the question for 2008, but ITV or possibly Sky One could pick it up? ITV made a total hash of the 'Grease' show last year, so may want to rectify this, and Sky haven't dipped their toe yet. Love 'em or hate 'em, the BBC 1 shows found two great leads for Sound of Music & Joseph, and created big advance box office. Jim could be head judge (obviously) with Bonnie Tyler(?) & anyone else associated with the project (producer(s), director, choreographer etc) as the other judges. Jim comes across far better than ALW in interviews, and his wit/humour would surprise a lot of people? The TV show would (obviously) be the best avenue to greatly increase Jim & the stage show's profile the most, and therefore he wouldn't have to do much else in 2008, in terms of promo? If the concept album gets recorded, I can see the artists from the record coming into the show each week, as 'guest stars', to perform their track? If it gets done, and whatever they do with it, it can't be anyone worse than the Grease show, and is guaranteed to sell a bunch of tickets. Having said all that, Jim probably hates these shows?? LOL | |
