| May I also add the following musings on the subject: 1. Everything every stand-up comedian ever said about marriage is true, to a greater or lesser degree. 2. Brevity is not just the soul of wit, but of Romance. And probably moreso the latter. 3. I love my wife, but I miss my girlfriend. Best scene in "Enchanted," a good movie: Fairy tale Prince Edward knocks at the wrong door, looking for his princess. A worn out, frumpy housewife answers the door, surrounded by clinging, greasy, clawing children. The woman and the Prince share an awkward, unspoken silence, which she breaks with: "You're too late." The Prince leaves without saying a word. > Now if this is how the Fairy Tales we were presented with > as children ended - we'd be less depressed as adults. > > BTW Vin, as usual, very well said. > > > Best case scenario, you meet a girl who feels just the > > same as you do, in which case you can share the long, > > slow, arduous, soul wrenching slide into disillusionment > > together. And what could be more Romantic? > | |
