I can't see the need really.

As Smeg has said Mama Mia and We Will Rock You were hits on the strength of the songs and anyone who knows Bat... the album or is a Meat Loaf fan will be going to hear those songs. No-one surely is foolish enough to expect Meat to be singing them and I can't imagine there would be that much interest in a musical about his life.

Just call it Bat Out Of Hell:The Musical, make it good enough (the BIG part) and people will come. My only worry is the motorcycles, the acrobats, the jugglers....maybe they will have an Elephant Man outside in a cage in as well. To me, gimmicks usually tend to be there when you're trying to polish up a turd and take attention away from a poor concept. I just hope Jim has really given the script the attention it needs and deserves.
