Hmmm...I'm not so sure that a Bat out of Hell musical needs a concerted publicity campaign just to tell people who Jim Steinman is. By that I mean I don't think it's necessary in order to make the show a success (and if it is a success, then the reverse will be true - the musical will have acted as the vehicle to get Jim's name the recognition it deserves).

Let's face it, the project could have been called Jim Steinman's Neverland if all it took was enough promotion to make Jim a household name. It's been called Bat out of Hell to trade on existing brand name and those on the inside of the music industry who are putting up the money know that the Bat... name, together with Jim's involvement, has been a phenomenal success twice before.

What are people going to expect (in the UK) when they hear about a musical called 'Bat out of Hell'? Well, they heard about 'Mama Mia' and they made it a massive hit musical without expecting to see Abba perform or the story of Abba. Likewise 'We Will Rock You' and Queen. So, why would they expect a 'Bat out of Hell' musical to be about Meat Loaf? They will expect to hear Meat Loaf's songs, the ones that made him famous - and they will. So, in that respect, 'Bat out of Hell' sells itself - no need to complicate matters by explaining who's involved and what other work they've done before people even get through the door. Worst case scenario would be you risk alienating casual Meat Loaf fans (who may own Bat or Bat 2, but neither know, or give a rat's arse who wrote them) by mentioning names like Bonnie Tyler, Barry Manilow, Air Supply, Celine Dion, Boyzone etc...who are seen as polar opposites to Meat.

"A Bat out of Hell musical by some bloke who wrote for Boyzone? No thanks guv'nor. Think I'll give that a miss."

I think Jim knows the 'Bat' name is enough to help make this musical a success (as long as it's good enough!) and that once that has happened, doors will begin to open to him to do other stuff (maybe even Dream Engine) on the back of it.

That bit, I totally agree with.
