Take the original show, fixed up some of its flaws (Kenwright changed it TOO much, apparently, OFTEN the best parts!) Premiered the show in Boston or San Francisco for 3 months, revised it some more, and moved to Off-Broadway or Broadway. Vacate a Lloyd Webber production there and move in "Whistle". With "Rent" closing, they could have squeezed it in there and done the place up at the same time? But, no, it was a lost opportunity. I'm amazed that Lloyd Webber would throw away one of his best scores, and some of the best lyrics in one of his shows since Tim Rice, to someone like Bill Kenwright. I'm amazed!
