| There is a current thread about recognition, and I'm wondering what his fans here have done as far as getting Jim some of the recognition we think he deserves. I know that some members have gone as far as producing plays he's had a part in, which can only help bring his name to the masses. On the grand scheme, I've done comparitively little. I mention him to everyone I talk to about music, as we all likely do. When people come to my house and see my jukebox, I point out that the first 10 45's by 7 different artists are all written by him. The one thing I'm most proud re: recoginition is meeting him at Joe's Pub, turning around at the end of the show and starting a standing ovation aimed at him, but obviously these are all people who are almost as fanatical about Jim and his work as I am already, and is a recognition TO Jim, not introducing him to others. What about you? | |
