I like what I've heard of Josh Ritter alright. I only have The Animal Years.

Of what I've heard, Damien Rice's instrumentation, melodies and just plain emotion are far superior. Songs go from a hush to a scream, I don't know, everything just seems so personal. Like singing to one person, but everyone gets to hear it. Could be the Irish voice too.

Speaking of Irish voice. I got to buying the Damien Rice cd because I fell in love with the movie "Once". About a Irish street performer, that has a wonderful soundtrack by Glen Hansard. He, and Marketa Irglova are performing their nominated song at the Oscars this year. It's the main thing I'm looking forward to about the awards show.
