> 'Bad For Good''s production was discussed at length during one of the televised interview-type show--Behind the Music or something. They had Ellen Foley, Karla Devito. Rory Dodd, the entire key cast weighing in and I remember distinctly Karla saying what a tense atmosphere BFG was. What I'd really like to know is what Jim said in 1989 about 'Signs' recording/production and the finished product. Puff pieces from Jim were all I ever saw so I'd be fascinated to hear what you have.
Some of 'Back Into Hell's production was damned good--RRDCT I thought was brilliant. The regurgitation of 'Love and Death of an American Guitar' was nothing short of sad and somethings were overdone to the point of sacrificing power and potency to silliness--which didn't have to happen. Great material just done wrong. Oh my god--that doesn't have me agreeing with the Loaf, does it??
You know, I appreciate the fact that Jim wants the artists to get it right and to do justice to the song, but after 15 takes it seems to verge on being genuinely disrespectful of the artist's voice and also implies lack of focus perhaps on Jim's part.
Just my 2 pence.
Cheers!
