That's the first time I've heard that story, and I'm not surprised why it didn't occur to me before. I knew there must have been something between Jim and Rene because Jim's a perfectionist and, well, Mr. Dion's in the studio watching the missus. There's got to be friction in something like that! It'd be interesting to know the full Celine saga.

I know Dave Thoener told Jacinta (I helped her get in contact with him for a project she was doing for a recording class) that Jim sat in the studio and did something like 15-16 full takes of the entire songs for "I'd Do Anything For Love", "Objects" etc. on "Back Into Hell". I don't remember the quote, Jacinta would have the full email (I might have it in my old account) so you would have to ask her when she's here. But some of the stuff he was saying totally blew me away. I could definitely imagine Steinman sitting there, in the middle of the night, frantically obsessing over these mixes, studying every last subtle arrangement and note of music. Of course, it paid off. "Back Into Hell" has phenomenal production, despite how Meat feels, although it feels a little dated.

I'd also like to know what the environment was like during "Bad For Good" and "Dead Ringer". So much is known about the creation of the BAT albums, whereas the only accounts I've heard on the other albums border on plain mythological! LMAO.
