I don't understand why they needed to cast him. If they wanted a name, they had Roman Polanski. In fact, he would have been better promotion because of the controversy. Can you imagine the reviews for a Roman Polanski Broadway musical? And "Tanz" was a masterpiece. It would have been a brilliant moment in musical history.
