| Paul O'Neil would be a great collaborator for Meat, I've often thought this. O'Neil is definitely a worthy Jr. Steinman who does enough of his own thing that he can't be called a rip-off, hack or clone. I'm not even convinced that his Stein-similarities are deliberate; I think he may simply share creative sensibilities with Jimmy. Which, I also think, is why half of us (or more) are drawn to Jim's work in the first place. I mean, its just not natural for an average 10 year-old to watch "Streets of Fire" at any and every opportunity just to hear the opening and closing numbers. There has to be something in the wiring, people..... >> It might be interesting to see what Meat could do with > something by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra guys (O'Neill > and Jon Oliva have written tons of amazing stuff for > Savatage and TSO together), but since they're eternally > busy with Nightcastle (due later this year) and whatnot, I > can't see that happening, unless there are some > leftovers. > > But the most important thing, imo, is that Meat should > select songs that he can sing, as opposed to songs he > wants to sing but can't. | |
