I didn't bother posting since nothing really interesting has happened in my life in the last few months. Then I thought... well, I ought to at least state that.

Nothing much has changed in my life recently.

I'm still web developing - been doing all the work on a huge government procurement website on my own due to turnover and recruitment issues at work, which was overwhelming and it's hard to get on with other parts of life when you're at work for 8-10 hours a day. We just hired some more people so I kind of have 2 people working under me, but I refuse to be a manager and I'd rather have them as peers, as equals. Other parts of the company have finished their projects so they can come over and work alongside me too. Now I can go home more often. ^_^

In terms of interests... I became a really huge fan of an anime series called "Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni" - some of it got released on DVD in America under the title "When They Cry", you can only get the entire series (and second series and special episode) in English as fan-subtitled video files on the internet. It's a cute story about kids in a rural village in Japan growing up in the early 1980s and their friendship. Just like a friend of mine told me that the film "Audition" is a cute romantic comedy. I was watching some parts of it while hiding behind cushions going "aah! I don't want to watch this bit!" but that's because I'm a very timid person. And some people just laugh off the "nasty" scenes saying they were too over the top to take seriously... but in my brain, "over the top = normal" so every trick works on me just fine. It's really well written and tricks the viewer into wondering what's real and what's not, and you (the viewer) end up trying to make sense of it, trying to solve the mystery as to what's really going on all the way through the series. By the end of the 2nd series (which contains no horror), all the mysteries and contradictions raised in the 1st series are resolved. See? I became a big fan - so I'm rambling about it.

Thanks for the info what Jim's been working on - having a few details of real progress.... it's the knowledge that everything's well underway and a long way through that is important, at least to me.

Oh and yay for photos and "boo" to death!
