I can understand maybe one motorbike exploding up through the stage floor as a set-piece, but I agree, choreographed motorbikes, skateboards & BMX's don't seem to belong on stage? Can you imagine one motorbike getting it wrong (which is highly possible); the stage will be like a traffic accident. I can see the need for flying sequences (hence the acrobats), and if done in the style of Cirque du Soleil, can be quite stunning. > I don't think Jim can or maybe will write any new songs > but he feels the need to put in songs that are "new" to > the public so he is shoehorning in anything. In regards 'shoe-horning', I think some or all of the Bat songs will need lyrical re-writes, to work effectively, and I'm not sure whether Jim will want to do this or not. > It is tough for me because Neverland is so special to my > heart, but I don't feel like this is going to be > Neverland as it should be. Well, JD seemed to love the 'reading' of Jim's script, and there's nothing confirmed (yet), that another writer is taking over. I do think though, that the show will probably be improved if Jim does collaborate with a more established playwright (note 'collaborate' and not 'is replaced'). | |
