had a look at the various versions of the Streets of Fire movie on amazon today, and totally got lost with the rating:
Amazon.com sells the original 1998 DVD version as R (16?), while the new HD-DVD version is advertised with a PG (13?) rating.
Now in Germany the movie itself (including every DVD release) was, from the premiere on, rated as 18+, which is totally ridiculous, as usually an 18+ rated movie must contain explicit sex scenes or a massive amount of detailed gut-shots and splatter-scenes.
I know that a little difference in the rating between different countries is normal, but why such a big gap? And usually it's us who are more liberal with such ratings.
Any idea what's the reason why the rating of the US-Version was lowered?
