An R rating in the US is 17 or older allowed in without Parent, any age allowed in With Parent. The PG 13 rating was not created until July 1984. When Streets of Fire was released it was PG not R. The DVD listed as R must be a mistake. As must PG-13. > had a look at the various versions of the Streets of Fire > movie on amazon today, and totally got lost with the > rating: > > Amazon.com sells the original 1998 DVD version as R (16?), > while the new HD-DVD version is advertised with a PG (13?) > rating. > Now in Germany the movie itself (including every DVD > release) was, from the premiere on, rated as 18+, which is > totally ridiculous, as usually an 18+ rated movie must > contain explicit sex scenes or a massive amount of > detailed gut-shots and splatter-scenes. > I know that a little difference in the rating between > different countries is normal, but why such a big gap?
