You just made clear that you do not know anything about hunting. For the record, I'm not one. > I don't like so-called 'hunting' at all. Some twat > thinking he's Rambo in an orange jacket stalks and kills a > defenceless deer (or any other animal), before sticking it > on the hood of his car. Yeah nice one numb nuts!! Different question, are you veggie? If so, you are preying on the prey of vegetable eating animals. And you do not consider the pain the plants feel when you harvest and eat them. Also, if you are veggie, do your vegetables come from local farmers or do you buy cheapest available from foreign countries? If you are no veggie, some butcher is butchering the cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys and other animals just so that you get your bacon for breakfast. Animals which in the EU are carried from country a to country b because butchering is cheaper there, then the meat is ferried elsewhere so it can be processed further or consumed. For the record, most of the meat I buy comes from local farmers and a local butcher. Hunters in this country are used by the State for population control. The hunters have to pay to shoot selected animals - usually old and/or sick and the State gets the money which is used to preserve forests and the healthy population. It's the same in a couple of African states - with the twist that some of the money + the meat is given to the local people so they do not hunt down all animals because they destroy farming land. Which as far as I know from a certain reserve in Uganda resulted in the game population rising from nigh exterminated to quite populated. Orange btw is not a colour used by the average hunter I know. They are usually in shades of forest green. > In regards target shooting or 'sport', you don't need to > have such powerful firearms, if firearms at all. Yeah, use a laser pointer. Hunters use more powerful firearms to train so they get a feel for it. If they don't do that, misshots happen and the animals has to suffer. Something which hunters do not want. > So-called 'legal firearms' get it to the hands of all the > wrong people...the abused & unstable housewife, the > vicious drug dealer, the desparate addict, the kid > searching through his old man's closet etc etc). And all of them can easily get hands on something that equally kills. Try a car. Get some chemicals from the local grocery store and build yourself a Molotov. Responsibility is something, along with ones own brain, that apparently is completely out of fashion. If you have a weapon, store it accordingly. There are fireproof containers with good locks available that a typical housewife or kid cannot open without the key. > How many times have you heard some idiot say 'it just went > off', 'I didn't know it was loaded', 'I just meant to > frighten them' etc etc. Well, people are stupid. And certain countries have a bigger share of idiots. > Anyone that uses a firearm needs a ton of training, which > is forever ongoing. Agreed. Btw, this is happening here. Psychological tests, regular checks, checks by the police whether the arms are properly stored (behind lock and key and in a different location to the ammo). | |
