Since 9/11, through intense diplomatic effort, Lybea (know I spelled it wrong) has denounced terrorism. North Korea destroyed its nuclear shit, although now it looks like that country might not have a leader so who knows how that will go. Saddam Hussein has been removed and forced to stand trial for his crimes. Iran continues to be a headache, but we have held them at bay thanks to President Bush's tough stand. I can guarantee you they are waiting for someone softy to get into the White House so they can manipulate and deceive. I do wish our relationship with our European friends was stronger, but they were not the ones who saw their citizens jumping from the towers to escape the flames. I know they cared and supported us, but going to war was a personal decision that we made. Going on the offensive was the right thing to do, but I do believe in the early stages of Iraq we showed very poor military planning and leadership from the highest levels.

As far as taxes, I don't remember the exact numbers, but it's something like the top 10 percent pay over 90 percent of the country's taxes. Just like the cigarette taxes -- fuck the people who smoke, and fuck the people who chased the American Dream to fruition -- let's tax them! People are struggling, but instead of coming up with empty promises about tax cuts that I think will either result in no change or possibly a worse economy, let's cut wasteful government spending. Why should someone's taxes be raised, someone else's be lowered, just to have that extra money get earmarked to study the DNA of pond scum in Montana? How is that going to help the middle-class?

Your keyword, Leesa, on talking to rogue nations was with preconditions. I agree with you there. Obama supports sitting down with them without preconditions. "Hey, look at us, the American President has come to see us! They're scared now! We got them where we want them!"

9/11 has faded from the collective conscience of America. We are more interested in reading a terrorist his rights than keeping him off the airplane. Fuck the goddamn terrorists. My main concern is our national security, because without it we wouldn't be able to argue politics amongst ourselves. I respect your opinion and mean no disrespect, nor did I intend to get into it this heavy on this thread, but you and Pudding only have yourselves to blame for that.

However it works out, as I tell my guys, find what's important to you and go vote. Democrats and Republicans come and go, right and wrong will be debated, but America will always be great because of the voice of the American people on election day.
