Ireally doubt tha Meat would be interested in perforing every night for 6 months on end in front of 3,000 a pop when he can still fill 10,000 seat venues and take a larger cut of the ticket price do you? Stupid argument that he might. Yeah, if it ever went to film and he's still alive after 10 years of the show doing the rounds beforehand, but frankly, any sound he'd utter would be after multiple takes in the studio, layered up and FX laden so he'd probably sound passable. Far more likely that the Coclusions and Climaxes 3 or 4 new songs along with the one's blocked from 'bat3' , that Springsteen cover from 'Bat2' and a couple of re-records of old stuff along with a 'demo's' disk will be released around the same time as the musical opens, with a big sticker on it promoting the stage-show. I would also expect a joint press 'effort' with both the Loaf and Jim promoting both musical and album with Loaf gong to opening night, doing the 'red carpet' thingy in return. This is one or those instances where it is in the common interest for both parties to help eachother out in publicising eachother's project. It's a bit like a 2 for 1 deal on publicity costs. A show 'cast' or 'concept' album is often something that comes 6-12 months after opening to keep the show in the public eye, or to promote a second (broadway?) opening. > I really think you are doing the fans a diservice, most > people who bought the album realise that Jim wrote it, > what was the quote "he's got my voice" so initally it > wasn't meat the persona it was the voice. > Lets face it meat sang BOOH because that was the sound > that Jim wanted, in the same way that Jim used, lets say > Rory Dodd/Bonnie Tyler because they delivered the sound > that he wanted to complete his vision. > The album has sold enough over the years and has a huge > fanbase, that'll put bums on seats. > I don't know about the USA or other countries but rock > fans in the UK are more that aware of Jim Steinman is the > man behind bat. > Yep make meat a part of it, he ain't got a singing voice > as witnessed by the recent tours, so maybe a narration > role, or selling ice creams during the interval. > I do think if you put meat on stage singing the critics > will tear it apart. > > > > His real problem isn't even that Meat Loaf would be > > involved, it's that he assumes Meat's fans wouldn't be > > interested.
