I wouldn't call him evil, just misguided by his own ambition and not guided by those he claims to represent. He, like others, thought DOTV was a sure fire hit, especially with Crawford in the cast, they thought it possibly couldn't fail, no matter how much of a bag'o'shite it turned out. I think we can safely say that compromising the integrity of a script really isn't the best way to make money.
Touch wood that Jim doesn't die anytime soon, but pound to a pinch of shit when he does Sonenberg will make $millions, through compilations, DVD's etc etc etc and I'll bet that a TDE project gets up and running again.
