| This is exactly right! Rory doesn't provide a lead vocal that has a "sense of identity" or any real charachter. As an aside, one of the reasons why I'm not quite as enthusiastic about theater renditions of Steinman songs as many is that musical theater performers, like backup singers, often seem to lack that vocal character or identity to my ear.
