You could have Polanski involved, Cornelius Baltus or no Cornelius Baltus. You could have him set up a webcam and direct the entire production from a giant cinema screen. You could have one of his assistants direct from his notes. It wasn't a compulsory option to replace him with Jim Steinman and John Caird, Barry Keating or John Rando.
