I don't agree with any form of under age sex, but when you have someone like Jerry Lee Lewis marrying his 13 year old cousin and it being legal, then the laws are kinda fucked up all round. If Polanski had forced himself upon her then that's outright rape, nothing statutory about it, but it seems he didn't.
Now if Polanski had taken her for an Holiday to Spain, then he'd have been OK.
