Not really. There are people who know how to sing for a living and could sing Jim's songs every day and not tear up their voice. It was the way Meat sang that ruined his voice. Karla Devito said that he used to turn the stage monitors up so loud that no one up there could hear a thing and they all risked going deaf. That's going to lead to singing off key and screaming. DeVito said that anytime meat couldn't get out a note he would just do his inhuman screaming thing and tear up his voice even worse just because it would set the kids screaming. I loved Meat's singing in the day... but it is not realistic to say that nobody can go out and sing Jim Steinman songs for an hour and 15 minutes six days a week without ruining their voice. > On the other side: thatīs the nature of many of Jims > songs.
