It's credited as Pitchford - Lyrics & Steinman - Music, but I've always suspected Jim wrote some lyrics. 'where are all the Gods?' 'white knight upon a fiery steed' & 'lightning splits the sea' are very Steinmanesque? However all the lyrics are great, and my favourite line is: 'Somewhere after midnight in my wildest fantasy, somewhere just beyond my reach, there's someone reaching back for me' Apparently Pitchford had written the lyrics for the Footloose film and wanted Bonnie Tyler to sing it. She agreed as long as Jim could produce, hence his involvement with the music & production. Check the link for an interview with Pitchford (that includes a bit about the song). | |
