That's the scientific arguement. But it would be nice if the excitement we feel when listening to Jim's music could be defined as a spiritual excitement and not a natural but earth bound excitement, based on our cavemen ancestors being into drums and our tastes in music evolving from those simple roots. Perhaps they did but I wish that we could say that Jim was the channel for a higher power. It would be nice if there was a higher power. I feel uncomfortable trying to believe that someone like Jim is the result of evolution. Or that nature, with all it's wonderful complexity, was started by some molecule exploding. But it is difficult to argue with the scientists. They seem so convinced. | |
