| God help me, dude, but I agree with you; I thought after Bat III that I would be able to write Meat off, but I just can't do it. I DO look forward to his next record. Ach! Why??? I *guess* because I harbor some inkling of hope, like a hope crumb, deep down in the toaster of my heart, that they might get good material, Steinmanesque material, epic rock theatrical shit (good shit), for the record, and that they might take the time to get good vocals from Meat, or to manufacture good vocals out of whatever he produces naturally. Cavallo's presence encourages me quite a bit, too, given how well he did with "American Idiot" and "Black Parade." I feel like an oft-beaten housewife who keeps going back to her marriage, even though the good times are long gone, just because she can't shake the mostly-vain hope that one day the Man She Married will magically reappear. > Having said all that, if he's working with Rob Cavallo (in > 'Black Parade' mode), I could see them re-doing 'IKYIYDCB' > and it working great, but I doubt Meat would want that. > > What I would also love to see is Paul Jacobs/Sarah Durkee > writing him some new stuff. > > In any case, I always look forward to a new Meat album, > and it will be interesting to see what he does (I only > hope he doesn't call it 'Bat Out of Hell 4: The Lawyers > Strike Back' - LOL). > > > | |
