Based on....?
I feel there are several scenarios:
Murder - Spector picked-up Clarkson at the House of Blues with the intention of taking her someplace to kill her.
The fact he chose to take her to his own home, that they were inside for around 2 hours (before the shot), and that no attempts were made 'to cover his tracks' makes premeditated murder unlikely.
Suicide - I have no doubt Spector got out one or more guns and started 'showing off'. Clarkson was supposedly depressed and may have said 'let's have a look', and then took her own life.
I'm not an expert on the case, but I believe from the forensics this was possible.
Involuntary Manslaughter - They were both drunk and at least one gun was being handled. Maybe they were both playing russian roulette? Maybe the gun was being 'waved around' by either of them and they underestimated the pressure needed on the trigger? I would say some type of 'drunken accident' is the most likely scenario; Spector had to much to lose, by murdering someone in his own home.
BTW - The thing that always seemed strange about the case is that the incident occured in the front hallway, in some type of upright (ie - uncomfortable) reading chair, and I don't think Clarkson was dressed to leave (ie - had put her coat on?).
As they had been inside for around 2 hours, I could understand the living room on the sofa, or more probably the master bedroom.
