During the first trial (which was televised in the states)
Spector's "DNA" was found on Clarkson's body; additionally the police found some towels with blood stains in the bathroom. The only evidence found at the scene (foyer) was a broken fingernail, which is unknown if the nail broke because of defensive tactics on part of the victim or because of the firearm discharging.
