Ha! I was going to say that. Are we all forgetting Bat II? Lol.

Personally, though, I do feel it's a bad idea. I saw the London production of Phantom around 1990 (I think) as part of a school trip. Might have been earlier. Anyway, it bored me to tears at the time - I don't think I was ready for it! It was much later that I began to 'get' it, so to speak.

I was very anxious to see the movie version when that was first proposed, but when I heard that Joel Schumacher was to direct, my enthusiasm simpered. After what he did to the Batman series, I feared the worst. It was better than I'd expected, though, but not what it should have been, in my opinion. All of the principals were miscast, and why the fuck Minnie Driver was in it when she can't fucking sing is beyond me. Anyone remember her lame effort as a pop star?

This just sounds like Episode 1 all over again. Bad move.
