Agreed. Seems like the girl (now woman) at the centre of this has no opinion whatsoever, at what point did she not matter?. Surely she just wants to get on with her life now but can't, yet has asked several times as you rightly pointed out for the whole case to be dropped.
As for Marvello shouting peadophile. The irony of the fact that the Swiss supply 'guards' to protect the head of the Catholic Church, which is in fact the biggest paedophile ring in the world. Ratzinger himself re-affirmed the “Crimine solicitationies” which states complete secrecy for any scandal involving abuses of any kind.
Surely the Pope should face criminal charges before Polanski, as Polanski only fucked one kid, the Catholic Church fucks many.
