| Hmmm - I see where you're coming from, but I do disagree somewhat. It's reasonable to assume that a fair few people who own Ba Out of Hell or are Meat Loaf fans would have seen that advert. Chances are they'd have mentioned it to a loved one/friend/colleague who also likes Bat/Meat. That sort of info tends to stick in the back of your head - it's not something you consider every day like us Steinmaniacs, but it's there nontheless and you'll remember it from time to time when Meat comes on the radio or you dig out a Bat album at home one night. Another, more specific ad - even if it's in 6 months time -will get people talking again. And then some of them will remember the original ad, and the anticipation will build, and then more ads will come, and then before you know it you'll have denim-clad rockers queueing around the block when tickets go on sale. Yeah, maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but then I'd guess the marketing guys behind the musical know a tad bit more about marketing than you or I. > But with the sort of attention spans people have nowadays > if something (especially something as cryptic as the > Evening Standard ad) isn't followed up within a few days > then people will have forgotten it ever was in the first > place.
