Gosh. Matthew Arnold is a brilliant chap. I think we are in an era of contraction too. Where are the Beatles? Where are the young ALWs? I think it must be a frustrating era for someone like Ryan, who has great ideas for productions but can't get them produced. How can he become a future Robert Stigwood in an era of contraction? And what is to blame? Big business? The economy? A lack of creativity brought on by computer games? The success of processed cheese like High School Musical? How can we get out of this era of contraction and enter into a new age of creativity?
