That story makes a lot of sense. This is why I told Ryan that I had heard about Jim and "Phantom" but I really wasn't sure if the story I heard was correct. What you say is quite possibly the true history of Jim and "Phantom". Although it still could have been Jim who suggested that ALW write it as an original show. But with your version of events, ALW did actually ask Jim to do the lyrics.
